Winter 2008 – Sports reporter: Responsible for a weekly column and three to four articles (roughly 80-90 column inches) per week, roughly 80-90 column inches. Covered Oregon athletics, with a beat focusing on Oregon wrestling and Athletic Department activities. Sports photos published in the Oregon Daily Emerald and on dailyemerald.com.
Fall 2007 – Copy chief: Edited all content for issues of the paper and managed copy editors. Contributed to content issue decisions.
Summer 2007 – Sports Editor: Wrote articles and columns, decided editorial direction for sports pages.
Fall 2006-Spring 2007 – Sports copy editor: Edited sports articles, helped with sports coverage including for Oregon football.
Vice President, Public Relations, Delta Upsilon fraternity (2005-2007)
Responsible for publication of newsletter for parents and alumni each term, for
creation and editing of chapter materials.
Strong proficiency with Adobe InDesign, including in journalism design.

I am interested in writing for magazines, newspapers, and the Web, and am looking to gain more experience in a professional journalistic setting. I am also interested in utilizing my eight years of Japanese language experience.
